Mary was probably the daughter or granddaughter of John and Margery (Denby) Coker. She was first married to a Garrington. Her second husband was Thomas Turner; then she married Richard Pellet. John Lawrence was her fourth husband.

Michaelmas Term, 1752, Mary Garrington, widow, quitcliamed to Edward Coker, John Levett, Abel Clark, & the heirs of Edward Coker, the manor of Bremsons, alias New Hall, and lands in Purleigh for £200.

Mary was also executrix of the will of Thomas Turner, granted 30 Jun 1576, and was responsible for holding in trust the inheritance of their son Thomas. Thomas Turner's will names her three Garrington sons.

15 Jun 1579, Richard Pellet Esq and Mary his wife sold land including a salt march at Vange to Edward Bayly.

A suit was brought in the Court of Requests, 1589, against Mary Pellett and Thomas Turner, concerning property Edward Webb had mortgaged in Colchester some 14 years earlier to John Turner of Colchester, clothier, who had been dead about seven years. John Turner's heir was a nephew Thomas, age 14 in 1589, son of John's brother Thomas Turner, dec'd and of Thomas's widow Mary, the Mary Pellet of Maldon, widow. Depositions taken in Westminster 26 Apr 1591 show that Mary was still Mary Pellett. The next year she married for a 4th time to John Lawrence of Fressingfield, Suffolk.

Easter Term, 1589, Mary Pillett, widow, and Edward Garrington and Joan his wife, sold the manor, lands, and rents in five parishes, one of which was Purleigh, with a warranty against the heirs of John Coker dec'd and of William Coker, dec'd, father and brother of Mary.

Michaelmas Term 1598, Elias Garrington, gentleman, John Laurance, gentleman, and his wife Mary, and Thomas Turner, gent. and his wife Mary, the Manor of New Hall alias Bremsons with lands and tenements in Purleigh and Hazeliegh, Exxes. This is, of course, Mary with her 4th husbnad, Elias Garrington, her son by her first husband, and her son Thomas by second husband Thomas Turner.
