Funeral services for Dr. Vincent Jones Gragg were held at Clanton Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon, Feb 29th, Clanton, AL. The services were conducted by Rev. Roswell E. Owens of Clanton and Rev. E. M. Causey of Foley. Burial was in the Clanton Cemetery.
Dr. Gragg, age 70, died in a Birmingham hospital Monday night, feb. 17, following an illness of several weeks. He had gone to Clanton from his home in Magnolia Springs the last week in January, and was in the Central Alabama Hospital for about ten days before being transferred to Birmingham, where he underwent a major operation for stomach trouble. He rallied from the operation and seemed to be recovering until Saturday when pneumonia developed.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Eula Roper Cragg, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Annie Mullins of Tuscaloosa and Mrs. Elizabeth Grother of Pittsburg, Kansas; two sons, Vincent J. Gragg, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, and Thomas Gragg of Mobile and Magnolia Springs. There are five grandchildren.
Dr. Gragg had been a frequent visitor to Magnolia Springs for a number of years, and in 1943 purchased a home there for a permanent residence.
At the funeral, members of Knights Templar served as pallbearers, and the Masons had charge at the grave. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Masonic Lodge of the county, members of the local Flying Club and members of the County Medical Society.

He died on 28 Nov 1957 of metastatic carcinoma of the right lung. He was born in Clanton, AL on 27 Apr 1904 and was an electrician. He was married to Ruth Jackson. Father was V. J. Gragg; mother Viola Rutherford. Mrs. Ruth J. Gragg of Aiken was the informant. Buried Clanton Cemetery.
