Individual Details

David Walker

( - Bef May 1774)

Will dated 15 Feb 1773, Goochland County, VA. Will leaves bequest to granddaughter Susanna Woodson. Does not mention a daughter Susanna. Implication that the daughter married a Woodson, but died before her father made out his will.I have also seen this will transcribed as DAUGHTER Susanna Woodson, not granddaughter. She received a bequest of 20 £, as sons John and Peter. Any descendant of this line should check the deed book. There is a marriage from Susanna Walker to Shadrack Woodson in 1766 - see the will of David Jr. The transcript which has Susanna Woodson as a granddaughter also omitted Ann Stevens and her bequest.
Sons: John, Peter, Joel.
Dau: Elizabeth Thornhill, Mary Perkins, Judith Poor, Ann Stevens, Hope Lancaster. Wife Mary. Exec: Son Peter Walker and son-in-law Robert Poor. Wit: Will. Douglass, Richard Oglesby, Elisha Leak.

I found the will David Walker Sr., 1774, Goochland Co. VA that lists his daughter Judith married to Robert (Robin) Poor; the Walker's will states "...I give to my daughter Judith POOR, twenty pounds, allowed to her out of the thirty pounds already paid to her husband Robert POOR, ye remaining, ballance of ten pounds, I give to ye said Robert POOR, in consideration of trouble he may be at as one of my executors..."

Dower was laid off to Mary Walker, 6 Sept 1776, reserving her son Joel 43 apple trees on the upper end of the Orchard. Commissioners: Jos. Pleasants, Ben Watkins, Jo. Watkins.

There was a younger David Walker in Goochland; he was referred to as Jr and may have been the son of David and Mary. His will of 4 Aug 1772, probate 16 Nov 1772. He also had a Woodson granddaughter - her name was Salley, Salley had a brother David. Their mother and dau of David Walker Jr was also Susanna [Walker] Woodson. She apparently the only child. David's wife was Fanny. Exec: son-in-law Chadrach Woodson, Francis Walker. Wit: Thomas Underwood, D. Pete Walker, Jeffry Clark, Pleasant Cocke.
