Rev. Richard Cave

(Abt 1750 - 10 Jul 1816)

Pioneer preacher and teacher of music; said to be an excellent singer. Followed brother-in-law Lewis Craig and his brother William to Kentucky in 1782. Settled in Garrard Co. Moved to Woodford county in the spring of 1785 to pastor the Clear Creek Baptist Church.

Richard Cave, wife Elizabeth, and children Reuben, Hannah & Polly were at Bryant Station KY when it was attacked by Indians under Simon Girty in Aug of 1782. Richard Cave's in-laws Talliver Craig Sr and Polly Hawking Craig were also present.
