Individual Details

Henry C. Johnson

(1852 - Feb 1929)

Living in Clanton in Chilton Co in 1880 was:
H. C. Johnson, age 24 [probably a mistake in age or stepchildren in the family], b. AL as was the whole family
Mary, age 30, wife
Elijah, 13, son (son of Mary Elizabeth)
M. J., 7, daughter
James, 5, son
Martha, 4, daughter
Willie, 2, son

One researcher has wife as Elizabeth Easterling Mims, married 9 Feb 1872. I did find this marriage for Henry C. Johnson, but her name is given just as Elizabeth "Mimms". Doesn't explain why she is listed as "Mary" in 1880. Either she was unwed in 1870, or her maiden name was not Mims. Perhaps she was an Easterling, and married first to a Mims. Newt Easterling and Mary Ann Mims, did have a daughter Elizabeth, born 1844.
Here is Elizabeth with Elijah in 1870:
In 1870, Beat 4, Baker, AL, Hh 185
Elizabeth Mims, age 26.
Elijah 4
V. J. Gragg, age 63, (male) teaching school
Note: Gragg will marry Emily (Baker) Headley Mims, as her third husband in 1875. Her second husband was Henry Mims. I have not been able to place Henry Mims in the Mims family.
