The genealogy of Thomas was prposed by George W. Patteson, 24 Feb 1955, who believed his descent to be from Rev. David on his father's side and from this Thomas on his mother's. I believe there remains the possibility that this particular Thomas & the the Rev. David Patterson were cousins rather than brothers, but I certainly believe there is a relationship.

Written in the Bible of Maj. David Patteson:
"My father Thos. Patteson departed this life the 19th Jan; 1790 in the 56 year of his age.

Thomas and Agnes may have had another son not noted in the Genealogy. In the same Bible there is the notation: "Our Brother Thomas Patteson ____ville in Tennessee departed this life Tuesday the 9th Day of August 1836. The handwriting was very similar to that when Maj. David recorded the death of his wife.
