Funeral services were held Sunday from the First Methodist Episcopal Church for Mrs. Lynne Starling Thomas, 68, who died Friday in a Richmond,VA. hospital following an operation for thyroid and heart trouble.
Since the death of Mr.Thomas 12 years ago, Mrs.Thomas had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. William P. Few, wife of Dr. Few, president of Duke University at Durham.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Few, Mrs. John Ross-Duggan, now living in Australia, and a son, Archer Thomas of Chicago.
Mrs. Thomas was the daughter of Colonel and Mrs. William A. Sheffield, a well-known Henry County family.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Henry County.
Mrs. Thomas lived in Martinsville.
Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery by the side of her late husband.
Mrs. Thomas was devoted to the missionary work of the Methodist Church and was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
