Found on a passenger list of the steamship "Lahn" which arrived in New York, 21 Nov 1890. Dr. Griswold Comstock, was age 50. the ship departed from Bremen, Germany and Southampton, England. Mrs. Comstock was traveling with him - she was age 44. Their destination was the U.S. and they had 4 pieces of luggage. They were in a First Class cabin.

Mrs. H. R. Varney - at Avon Crest Hospital, Stratford, on Wednesday, December 20, 1967, Carrie C. Strudley, wife of the late Dr. Henry Rockwell Varney, in her 100th year, formerly of Detroit, Michigan: dear mother of Henry Murray Varney, Newmarket, Ont. Rested at the McMan-Gilbart Funeral Home, 91 Brunswick St., Stratford. Service was held in the Chapel, Thursday at 3 pm. Entombment followed in Woodlawn Mausoleum, Detroit, Michigan, on Friday, December 22. Expression of sympathy were conveyed by donations to the Stratford General Hospital Memorial Fund in lieu of flowers.
