At the time of his death, he was private secretary of President Andrew Jackson. Will written 16 May 1833, probate 2 Dec 1833. Left all goods & chattels to mother, after her death to be divided equally among fatherless children of sisters, Susan Blakey Poindexter & Eliza B. Harwood. Account against brother, Cardwell, to be given to him.
