James Francis was born in Wethersfield, Oct 13, 1685; married (first) Nov 3, 1713, Elizabeth Howard, who died Apr 13, 1728; resided at Berlin, CT, where he farmed. His father, John Francis, was born in Wethersfield, Sep 4, 1658; married (first) Feb 10, 1680, Sarah Dix, who was born in 1658 and died Apr 3, 1682; served as sergeant in Colonial army, but main occupation that of farming. He died Dec 28, 1711. His father, Robert Francis, was born in 1629, probably in England; married about 1650, Joan ___ who died Jan 29, 1705, aged 76. The records of the town of Wethersfield authenticate the admission of Robert Francis to freeman in 1645... He attained the age of eight-three, his demise occurring on Jan 2, 1712.
