In an old family letter from the 1880's, Asenath was taking a train from Salt Lake city to Chicago to see her sister Druscilla Dunlap. In a letter from the 1890s, Asenath mentioned her sister Druscilla Dunlop who was living at Chicago and another sister name Mary (married name unknown).

A daughter of Asenath's, Louisa Gheen, stated that she was born 28 May 1843 at Indianapolis so it would seem the family was still there in Indiana at that time.
