Sir Richard Plantagenet

Richard was knighted by his brother, King Henry III, on 2 Feb 1224/5.
Richard had four children by his first wife, Isabel Marshal:
John, b. 31 Jan 1231/2, died 22 Sep 1232
Isabel, b. about 9 Sep 1233, d. 6 Oct 1834, buried by her brother John
Sir Henry of Corwall, "Henry of Almain", b. 2 Nov 1235. Murdered at Viterbo, Italy on 13 Mar 1270/1 by his cousins, Simon and Guy de Montfort. His bones and heart were conveyed to England where his heart was encased in a vase deposited in Westminster Abbey.
Nicholas, born and died at Berkhampstead, Jan of 1240.
Richard married 2nd at Westminster Abbey, 23 Nov 1243 to Sanche or Sanchia of Province, daughter of Raymond Berenger. They had two sons - one, unnamed, born in July of 1246, died 15 Aug the same year. The second was Edmund of Cornwall, Edmund of Almain. He married Margaret de Clare, 6 Oct 1272, dau of Richard de Clare, 5th Earl of Gloucester by his 2nd wife Maud de Lacy.
Richard had other children by an unknown mistress, or mistresses to include Richard of Cornwall born about 1255.
