Individual Details
Catherine of Valois
(27 Oct 1401 - 3 Jan 1437)
Catherine was the daughter of King Charles VI of France. She gave birth to her son Henry, who was to be King Henry VI, at Windsor on 6 Dec 1421, but Henry V died before ever seeing his son. Charles VI died a couple of months after Henry V, making the infant Henry, King of England and English-occupied northern France.
There is no actual record of her marriage to Owen Tudor, and probably wouldn't have been lawful even if they had married. They had at least six children. The assertion they were secretly married was a vital link for the legitimacy of the Tudor dynasty.
