Note: Respected genealogists, Robert Charles Anderson and Donald Lines Jacobus, agree that the origin of Sarah, Wife of Samuel Spencer, Jr., including her maiden surname and her parents, has not yet been verifiably identified. She probably is not, however, Sarah Meekins or Meakins
However....
Savage's dictionary of Early Settlers of New England under the Meakins section shows a John Meakins died 1706 leaving a widow Mary and daughters Mary Belden, Sarah Spencer, beside Rebecca and Hannah ,unmd when his will was made in 1702.
I believe what is missing is any link that connects John Meakins daughter with SAMUEL Spencer. Given multiple Sarah Spencers that would be necessary to say conclusively this was John Meakins daughter.
