Ambrose Jackson Sr.

( - 5 Dec 1745)

I have seen Ambrose's wife listed as Anne Clack and Anne Brodnax and she has been confused with the wife of Ambrose Jr who was Amy Wyche. I believe no surname is proved for her and she was none of these. After the death of Ambrose, she married Hinchia Mabry as his second wife. Hinchia Mabry's first wife was Frances Parham, daughter of Ephraim Parham. After the death of Anne Jackson Mabry, Hinchia married a third time to Ann Clack Courtney by whom he had a daughter Ann, who married Henry Jackson, Jr, a grandson of Ambrose.

The first mention of Ambrose is in the deed in 1713 in Prince George Co from John & Rebecca Jackson and Ambrose Jackson to Ralph Jackson. John & Ambrose are identified as sons of John Jackson, deceased.

Ambrose wrote his will 14 Jun 1745 and died soon after as it was recorded 5 Dec 1745. He named his wife Ann. Sons Henry, Ambrose and John. Daughters Anne Harwell and Tabitha Sims. Witnesses were Thomas Lanier, Ralph Jackson and Daniel Jackson [likely sons of the Thomas Jackson who also lived on Little Creek] and John Ogburn

Some databases also list a daughter as Abigail but I have found no mention of her.
