Elizabeth Bevin

Elizabeth Bevin was first married to Thomas Elam who died about 1697. She married second Thomas Paine and received a gold ring from her mother's will in 1713 as my daughter the widow Elizabeth Paine. She married a third time to Isaac Shepherd who died in 1728. Her 4th husband was John Burton who wrote his will in 1754 and died in 1756. Elizabeth's own will was written 24 Sep 1757, recorded 1 Jun 1759.

She also survived her two brothers.
30 Oct 1758, Chesterfield Co. Elizabeth Burton, and her son William Shepherd and his wife Sarah, sold 300 acres, north side of Swift Creek to John Covington. The land was given to Elizabeth and her brothers William & Matthew by her father William Bevin in his will, Henrico Co, 1 Feb 1685. After the deaths of William & Matthew, the said lands became solely the property of Elizabeth Burton.

Will of John Borton (clerk made note in margin "Burton's will"), dated 2/23/1754, was probated 6/4/1756.
