DIVORCED TO WED HACKETT?
Chalotte Walker Obtains Decree Against Her Husband in Galveston
Galveston, Tex., July 31. The application of Charlotte Walker, the actress, for a divorce from her husband, Dr. John B. Haden, a physician of Galveston, and the custody of their two girls was today granted by the Tenth District Court without contest.
The plaintiff charged her husband with cruelty, negligence, and ill treatment. Aside from denial of these charges he did not contest the case.
Announcement of the divorce decree brought out the report that Charlotte Walker, which is her maiden name, was making preparations to become the wife of James K. Hackett, with whom she toured in a theatrical company.
She married Dr. Haden in Galveston twelve years ago, when she was known only amaateur theatricals. She entered the theatrical profession under protest from her husband and her relatives. Her father was a pioneer and wealthy ship agent here, and his widow now lives on a ranch in west Texas, where it is said Charlotte Walker is spending the Summer. She is a native of Galveston, and received her education in the Ursuline Academy here.

Another article from "Footlight Notes" has a bit more about her family.:

Her great-grandmother was a Pinckney and one of the belles of Charleston, S.C., before the Civil War. Her grandfather, Pinckney Walker, was British Consul at several Southern cities during the rebellion. Miss Walker had appeared in several amateur performances before her professional début, which was made in the chorus of a musical play soon after the Galveston flood, in which she lost her home. Before the end of the year she was playing the leading woman's part. Her career began in earnest in 1895, when she was one of Richard Mansfield's company. In 1896 she appeared at the Comedy Theatre in London with Charles Hawtrey's company. On her return to America in 1897, she was engaged by James K. Hackett to create the rôle of Virginia Carvel in The Crisis, and for the next four years she was his leading woman.

Charlotte is buried Old City Cemetery, Galveston, as is her famous daughter.

Possible father: The only problem is that databases online show this Charlotte as having been married to Aaron Franklin Conaway and had several children.... gives her date of birth as 29 Dec 1878 and death as 24 Mar 1958, Los Angeles... very close to the same dates - yet the actress Charlotte Walker is said to have died back in her native Texas.
