Hudson was the son of John B. Blankenship, b. ca 1697, Chesterfield Co VA and Elizabeth Hudson, b. 16 Jul 1704, England. John died 9 Apr 1754 [or Dec of 1754], Chesterfield Co. and Elizabeth died after deposition of 29 Apr 1772, when she was age 85.

20 Jul 1780. Hudson Blankenship received a Virginia land grant - 170 acres in Bedford County on branches of Rock Castle Creek. PB E, p.180

"Dec 18, 1812, In the name of God Amen I Hudson Blankenship of the County of Campbell and state of Virginia being of perfect mind of body and memory thanks be to God calling into mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say principally and first of all I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executors: I give demise and dispose of my estate in the following manner and form: first I give to my beloved wife, Edy Blankenship, one hundred acres of land to include the house and plantation where I now live and the whole of my household and kitchen furniture also my stock of Horses, cattle, hogs, and sheep and with my plantation utensils. Also all the money I have due either in notes or account to have and to hold so long as she the Edy Blankenship my wife, shall live and after her decease to be equally divided between my Children. Also I give the balance of my tract of land not given to my wife to my son, Henry Blankenship, to him and his heirs forever.
Lastly I constitute and appoint Thomas Cook and Archibald Blankenship my executors to this my last will and testament.
In witness I have set my hand and seal this eighteenth day of December Eighteen hundred twelve."

it states in part "Hudson died in 1814 and his will left his property to his wife, Edy " as long as she lived" which was for 12 years) Thus Edy died in 1826
