Individual Details

I very much suspected Elizabeth was a child of an earlier wife, and quite possibly Samuel as well. The 1850 census gives her birthplace as Illinois which is questionable, although the family could have spent a few years there in between Tennessee and Missouri. And indeed I did discover that John was married twice and the family may have been in Illinois for a few years.

Elizabeth married George T. Hale about 1852. She stayed in Missouri when the rest of the family moved to Texas.

Ruben and Louisa Hale are buried, Manley Cemetery, Nixa, Christian Co, MO. There are said to be unmarked Hale graves - possibly those of George & Elisabeth.
