A Texas death certificate, for Emma Amanda Nash, states that she was born 2 Mar 1870. Her father was Joseph Hayden Routh; her mother Amanda M. McDaniel. She died 5 May 1962 in Brownwood, Brown Co, TX, at the Lawson Rest Home, age 92. Amanda was a widow. She lived in Ballinger, Runnels Co, and was buried there, Evergreen Cemetery.

I found Joseph's death certificate. He was born 2 Apr 1841, Barry Co, MO [the family must have gone to Missouri briefly, then returned to Tennessee]. He died at age 82 y 2 m and 15 d - 17 Jun 1923, Ballinger, Runnels Co. He was killed by a train. "Instant death". Father was Kenzie Routh; Mother Melvina Murrell. Joseph was widowed. Mrs. Emma Nash of Ballinger was the informant.
An online database says that his car was struck by the train.

Also, there was a son named for his father. Joseph Hayden Routh was born 30 Apr 1872, died 24 Dec 1915. He married Greola J. and is buried Evergreen Cemetery.

Joseph had a second marriage, 2 May 1906, Runnels Co TX, to Nellie Gregory.
