There is a copy of a postcard sent 12 Feb 1912 to Dr. J. W. Haden, from Robert Otway Haythe, who was a nephew of Joel, Robert's mother being Cornelia F. Haden. The card was mailed from Algiers where the Haythes were visiting. Based on the 1920 census, he appears to have been still living on the homeplace.

Claims of the family of Richard H. Jones, an African American, that his father was Joel W. Haden. The information is ambiguous in regards to generations and names.

The following are possibilities from 1900 - 1910 - I also searched for any "R" Jones. Richard H. Jones' mother was said to be Roberta Jones & siblings Charlie (half brother), Louise and James.

1900 Census - Brookville, Richard son of Richard & Ida was born Apr 1889, father listed as "Bick" [Rick]
1900 - Seneca, Richard, son of Walter & Amy was b. 1885

1910 Census. Brookville, Campbell Co. Richard Jones, Black, age 50, married 1 time for 25 years, Laborer, stone quarry.
Ida, Wife, mulatto, age 57, had 12 children - 6 are living
Richard Jr., son, mulatto, age 21 - NOT the same - he's still with this family in 1920, age 32
Edward, son, mulatto, age 19
Gertrude, dau, age 15

Seneca, Campbell Co
Walter Jones, Black, 53, married 1 time for 24 years, farmer, renting
Amy, wife, mulatto, age 40, married twice, 11 children - 7 living
all children mulatto
Richard, son, age 22. Mattie, dau, 19. Nannie M. dau age 16. Tamer, dau, age 10. Darsy E. Foe, grandd. age 3.
Living next door was the family of Washingon Foe and Darsy could well be theirs - maybe she was just visiting for the day.

Another possible in 1910, Otter River, Campbell, Hh 148
Roberta Farmer, head, age 32, married 1 time for 5 years, 9 children - 7 living, Cook, private family. Owns own place. It is quite likely some of these children are not Farmers since they were born before the 5 years she has been married. It also seems unlikely she was old enough to be the mother of all, or her age is wrong - trees given her birth year as 1875, which would make her about 13 when she had Charles. Roberta and all the children marked as "mulatto"
Charles H., son, age 22, working out, farm labor
Richard, son, age 21, laborer, odd jobs
Gladis, dau, age 17, working out, farm labor
Mary, dau, age 13
Watsy, son, age 11 [for Watkins...?]
McKinley, son, age 8
Louisa T. Martin, dau, age 18, married 1 time for 3 years
George Martin, son, age 1 year, 6 months
Josephine, dau, age 0/12 - just born
Note: this family does have a Richard of the right age and a brother Charles and daughter Josephine. All are listed with the Farmer last name. It is possible Roberta brought children to the marriage, but there's no way to tell and I find nothing re this family in 1900. There was a William Farmer but the only name of the children that matches was family was possibly as Charles R.
