Paul Watlington: age 70-80

Wife is unknown. Sons were John Armistead, Thompson, and Henry, named in the codicil to his father's will.

An online database shows a daughter Elizabeth M. Watlington who married William T. Terry, 2 Jul 1806, Halifax Co VA. She died 1870, Todd Co KY.

A Post-em Note in a World Connect file has the following:
Paul Watlington was born 1755 and died in Halifax Co 1836. He was a Captain in the American Revolution. He married Mary Thompson d/o John and Susanna Foster Thompson. Paul and Mary had children William Henry Watlington, John Armistead Watlington, Elizabeth Watlington born 1786, md 1806 William T. Terry (my line) and Susanna who md Robert Smith. Susan Watlington Smith died before her father leaving two children Armistead W. Smith and Rebecca B. Smith. Elizabeth Watlington Terry died 1873 in KY. There was not a son named Thompson. Suggest you check 1840 Halifax Co, VA Chancery Ct. suit for proof of the children of this Paul and Mary Thompson Watlington. regards, Margie Brown
My Note: if the will of Armistead Watlington truly states a grandson named Thompson in 1803, and it seems quite likely given Mary's maiden name, likely the child died.
