Francis Nan Rose, 93, of Woodway, passed from this life Saturday, March 25, 2012. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Brookside Mausoleum Chapel of Mission Park North, San Antonio. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at OakCrest Funeral Home, Waco.
Born in Keller, Texas, to the late John T. and Vesta White, Francis Nan was reared in Ft. Worth and graduated from Texas Wesleyan College. Following graduation she taught high school English in Alvarado until she married Paul P. Rose of Ft. Worth in 1941. Francis Nan moved with architect husband Paul to San Antonio in 1950 where they began a long life together actively engaging in church and community activities, traveling, and enjoying time with grandchildren. After Paul died in 1994, Francis Nan moved to Waco, where she lived until her death. In addition to family activities, she enjoyed reading and volunteering for UpWords Ministries in San Antonio and St. Catherine Center in Waco.
Survivors include son, J. T. Rose and wife, Sandy, of Waco; granddaughters, Melanie Leppa and husband, Brian, of Houston, Leah Evans and husband, Michael, of Dallas, and Lynnelle Rose, of Grand Prairie; great-grandchildren, Madeleine Leppa, and Jonathan and Audrey Evans; nephews, David McMaster, of Pflugerville, and Keith and Kevin McMaster, both of Shreveport, La.; and many other family members and friends.
