Sallie was the daughter of Llewellyn Pugh and Josephine Courtney Randolph. She was present to society along with her cousin Emma Grima in 1905 in New Orleans.

Of much interest in society here will be news of the announcement made recently by Dr. and Mrs. William Dandridge Haden of Charlottesville, VA of the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Miss Sallie Pugh Haden, to Mr. Joseph Langham Yon of Pittsburgh, PA, the wedding to be celebrated in Virginia, Wednesday, December 21.
Miss Haden spent a part of the social season here last winter, taking an active part in the gayeties in younger circles during her stay. Her mother was before her marriage, Miss Sallie Pugh of New Orleans, and is a daughter of Mr. Lewellyn Pugh and the late Mrs. Pugh of this city, and a niece of Mrs. Alfred Grima, Sr. She is widely connected among prominent families throughout Louisiana as well as in Virginia. Mr. Yon is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Yon of Pittsburgh.

Died Wednesday in Charlottesville, VA. A native of Napoleonville, she was 84 and lived in Charlottesville. Graveside services are set at 2 p.m. Friday in Monticello Memorial Park, Charlottesville. She was the widow of Dr. W. D. Haden. Survivors include a son Dr. W. D. Haden Jr of Charlottesville; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph L. Yon, Portsmouth, VA, and Mrs. W. Massie Smith, Charlottesville; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
