Ct. 1787 [Note: Surry Co. 1774 & 1775 tax lists show Thomas Ellit, 1 poll; 1782 tax list, 200 A on Forbush Creek. 1785 Surry Co tax list of Capt Carson shows Thomas Elliot with 165 acres, 1 white poll. The 1786 tax list of the same Capt shows Thomas Elliott with 160 acres, 1 wp. Benjamin Elliott with 200 A, 1 wp. 20 Jul 1801 the land was processioned for Mary Flynn, being 230 A from the land of Thomas Elliott on Forbishes Creek.

By 1793, when Mary Flinn was listing taxes in her own name, Hezekiah had abandoned his family and had gone to Knox County TN, where he married Elizabeth Casada in 1797 and had a second family James Flinn's Bible record shows that Mary Flinn, his mother, died 18 December 1839.
