1850. Census in Jackson Co. He lived near Hickman Mills. The couple had at least 12 children including a new born son that died 9 Jul 1847.
He was a staunch Union sympathizer during the Civil War, even though his youngest son Sim was a guerrilla fighter with Quantrill's Raiders.
He is buried in the Whitsett family cemetery.
