When Jane Overby applied for Cherokee enrollment, 25 Aug 1896, she stated she was a daughter of Lewis & Mary Hall, Mary was a daughter of Daniel & Ann Poindexter Scott. The Poindexter book has little about Mary Hall, nothing about her daughter Jane except her name. Jane named three children, Sarah Ring, wife of J. H. Ring, Lewis Overby and Powers Overby.
I could not find Jane, or the sons in the 1900 census.
I found a Sarah & Henry Ring living in Shoals, Surry Co, in 1900. Sarah was born Jan 1857 and is likely the daughter. Sarah had had six children, and they were all listed in the home.
