Edom was said to be aged 63y 6m 1d at his death. He is buried Russiaville Cemetery, Howard Co IN. Date in the Ratcliff book, when used with his age indicates his birth as 25 Dec 1795, which seems unlikely. His birth given in 1860 shows a birth year of about 1787.

The dates as read on his grave marker which is extremely worn, are that he died Sept 25, 1865
aged 66y 11m 14d - very different from the above book which had him dying in 1859 - certainly wrong since he was living in 1860. The person who posted the Memorial #46575229 has given him a birth date of 11 Oct 1788, which calculates according to the stone.

Edom Ratcliff, was a native of North Carolina, and with his wife, Hannah Smith came with their own families and were among the first settlers of Highland County, Ohio. They married in Highland County Ohio in 1814. remained there until 1844, when they came by wagon to what is now Honey Creek Township, and settled near the present site of Russiaville, Indiana, where they died, having reared nine children, viz.: William, Mahala, Margaret, Rachel, Edom, Hannah, Andrew, Matilda, and Sarah. Edom built the first grist mill in Honey Creek Township on Squirrel Creek.
