Individual Details
Emily Jane "Emma" Fry
(7 Jun 1867 - 14 Nov 1936)
1870 Census: "Emley, age 3, born TX"
1900 Census. Prec 1 "part of city of Gainesville", Cooke Co, TX, Hh 221
William Jordan, b. Nov 1849, age 50, married 15 years, b. MO, parents b. KY, farmer
Emma, wife, b. June 1867, age 33, 2 children - none living [although it's apparent there was a 1 marked over with a 0], b. TX, parents b. MO
Walter Fry, boarder, b. May 1876, age 24, b. TX, parents b. MO, farm labor
There is something quite strange. Emma states that she had two children, none were living, although there seems to be some indecision about that answer. Yet in 1910 Roberta is listed as age 23, Liston as age 6. Roberta's death certificate confirms she was born in 1886 - where was she in 1900?
FindAGrave.com shows no infant graves in Fairview Cemetery where William, Emily, Roberta & Liston are all buried. There were two infant graves in Shiloh Cemetery, Cooke Co - a "son" and a "daughter". The girl was born and died 30 Jul 1881; the boy was born and died 2 Feb 1885. An M. F. Jordan is also buried in Shiloh Cemetery, b. 10 Jan 1856 and d. 2 Feb 1885 - the same day as the baby boy so I doubt that these have any possibility of being Emily's infants.
