Joseph's father willed him half of his home farm.
Joseph's will was dated 19 May 1746. He in turn left the homestead where he dwelled and the farm adjacent John Sayles in Smithfield where his father Nathaniel live, 110 acres, to his son Joseph, as well as other properties. He left significant bequests of land, rights of common, etc. also to his sons Daniel & Oliver. To his two daughters, Alice Mowry and Waite Arnold he gave each 1500£.
