27 Aug 1840 Augustus P. Allen and Robert L. Rose, Executor of N. O. Allen of Richmond, to George Geiger of Lima, Livingston Co. In consideration of $1 convey all that tract of 156 rods out of the SW corner of lot number 4, township 9, 5th range [which would be Richmond] ....along the centre of the highway; 156 rods includes highways. 7 Oct 1840 Robert L. Rose acknowledged the deed to Harry Smith, Commissioner of Deeds. Recorded 28 Nov 1842.

N. O. Allen wrote his Will, 7 Apr 1839. He apparently never married. It was not presented for probate until 15 Oct 1849, more than ten years later.

Will of N. O. Allen made this seventh day of April 1839
First I direct that immediately after my decease my Executors pay my debts and they are hereby authorized to sell any of my real estate if necessary for that purpose.
Second My debts being paid I direct that my Executors as soon as the conveniently can to arrange my property that it may be easily divided and distributed as hereinafter directed - to effect which they are hereby authorized to sell and convey my real property or to exchange it for such securities as they may deem proper.
Third My Gold Watch I give to my nephew Nathaniel Allen Rose. My Sorrell Horse Botherum I give to Robert L. Rose. I direct my Executors to buy a gold Watch with one hundred & fifty dollars for my sister Almira and the balance of my property I direct to be divided into three equal parts. One part of which I give to my brother Orrin N. Allen,. One part to my brother Augustus Porter Allen and the remaining third part to my Sister Almira.
Fourth I appoint my brother in law Robert L. Rose and my brother Augustus P. Allen, Executors of this my last will and testament.

Acknowledged by the Testators to be his signature to each of us as Witnesses he at the time of such acknowledgement declaring the same to be his last will and testament & requesting us to witness the execution thereof.

15 Oct 1849 To Mark H. Sibley, County Judge of County of Ontario performing the duties of the Office of Surrogate.
Petition of Robert L. Rose of Richmond. Nathaniel O. Allen late of said town departed this life on or about the month of May, AD 1839. He executed his last will and testament whereby he appointed the petitioner & Augustus P. Allen who is now deceased, Executors. Orrin L. Allen of Culpepper County, a brother of the said deceased is the only heir at law.

16 Oct 1849 Deposition of David Pierpont. He was well acquainted with Nathaniel O. Allen now deceased who died in Richmond several years since. About five days before the death of the said Allen he was for to go to the residence of Robert L. Rose where Allen was then lying ill to witness the will of the said Nathaniel O. This was on or about the 7th of April, 1839. He did go to the residence of Rose where he and Chauncey W. Whitney witnessed the execution of the will. Whitney now lives in the state of Michigan. At the time Nathaniel O. Allen was a citizen of the U.S. and an inhabitant of the County of Ontario, of full age and of sound and disposing mind and memory.

Nathaniel O. is buried Allen's Hill Cemetery, Richmond. Died May 4 1839, age 29 years.
