8 Apr 1791. John and Wanton Comstock, both of Woodstock, and Zibiah Comstock, spinster, of Smithfield, deeded 4 acres in Smithfield and 4/7 of the house "our father John died seized of".

Wanton married Elizabeth Sayles, who was killed by a runaway horse in North Woodstock, CT.

Vol 1, p.504 2 Jan 1792 John and Wanton Comstock bought 66 2/3 acres from Daniel Paren of Thompson, Windham Co. John & Wanton both of Woodstock.

14 Mar 1800 Obadiah Child of Woodstock sold to Wanton Comstock of Woodstock & John Steer of Smithfield [possibly a cousin], two equal third parts of a parcel of land in Thompson, containing about 10 acres. Also two equal third parts of the sawmill standing on that land with free and full liberty to build and repair the dam across the brook and to flow from the Meadow from 1 October to the 10th of April annually as it necessary for the Mill. Signed Obadiah Child and witnessed by Seth Chandler & Abram Paine. Rec'd 8 Apr 1802.

22 Dec 1807 Wanton Comstock sold 21 acres in Thompson to his brother John Comstock of Woodstock for $200. Phebe Comstock was a witness but her identify is unknown. Possibly a new wife of Wanton.

2 Oct 1810 Wanton & John Comstock bought 7 acres in Thompson from Eleazar and Ruth Stockwell.

24 Nov 1800 John & Wanton Comstock sold 20 acres in Thompson to John Steer of Smithfield for $90. Phebe Comstock was a witness; her appearance before the judge was on 21 Mar 1804. [This deed appears to be considerably out of sequence. Perhaps it had not been recorded and that took place at the same time as the following deeds when Wanton Comstock & John Steer appeared to dissolve their partnership.]

26 Jan 1811 Wanton Comstock sold to John Steer his half of several properties in Thompson which they had previously owned jointly.

26 Jan 1811 Wanton Comstock sold to John Steer, two-thirds share of the saw mill and saw mill parcel which they had owned jointly since 1800.
