Nancy's father was William Ellis who was also of Spotsylvania Co. Nancy's brother, also a William Ellis, left his will in Fayette Co KY, dated 4 Aug 1793, and recorded Oct Cout 1793. Admitted to probate a second time, 10 Feb 1803. Most of his children seemed to be underage, the daughters unmarried.

The senior William Ellis's will is in Spotsylvania Co VA and names his children as: daughter May Proctor, son William Ellis, daughters Elizabeth Hawkins and Ann O'Neal. Son Hezekiah. Son John, not yet 21. Daughter Agnes, not yet 21. Exec: Col. Jos. Brock and sons Hezekiah and William. Wit: Wm. Wood.

Nancy was named in a deed of sale in Fayette Co; also Thomas Proctor and his first wife named their daughter Nancy. Another indication that Thomas Proctor of Logan Co KY is the same as the Thomas Proctor who married Popley O'Neal daughter of Robert O'Neal.
