The 1860 Census of Anderson Co shows Susan, age 42, married to Caswell Mabry, age 54. Living with then was Isaac Mabry, age 85, b. North Carolina.

Will of John Cox Sr., written in his 92nd year of life. 15 May 1879. Beloved wife Alice is to have the full benefit they both possess during her natural life. Daughter Lacey Dew is deceased, leaving heirs: Susan M. Brown, Margaret E. Barnet, John C. Dew, James R. Dew, Allace E. Duncan, Nancy H. Dwe, and Matthew H. Dew. C. C. [Curd] Cox, P. M. [Pleasant] Cox, C. B. [Charles] Cox and R. M. [Rufus] Cox have already received $300 of land by deed and others are to be made equal. Other heirs are James H. Cox, Susan Maberry, John R. Cox, R. T. [Robert] Cox, Margaret Turner, Moses C. Cox, and S. L. [Samuel] Cox.
