Azariah Graves, Son of Archibald Edmund Walters and Mary Elizabeth Richardson
Jun 21, 1871 - Feb 13, 1961

I have not found Azariah in the 1900 Census. He was not yet married to Cora - she was still in Texas, a young widow, and can be found living with her daughter and her father-in-law, James T. Harris, Montague County, Justice Precinct 5.

Sometime before 1910, Azariah married Cora Bickham Harris, widow. She brought her child to the marriage. In November of 1918, she applied for a passport under the auspices of the Red Cross and stated what was apparently her maiden name and that she was married to Azariah Graves Walters.

The Walters Mill Seat and 80 acres (that belonged the first Azariah Graves Walters) was to go to son Archibald E. who in turn was to convey the mill and acreage to his grandson Azariah Graves, Jr.
Upon the death of Archibald E. Walters, Azariah Graves Walters, Jr., apparently inherited that property in Caswell County, North Carolina, known as Walters Mill (which included a grist mill and eighty acres of land, more or less). On 2 November 1925, the younger Azariah Graves and his wife Cora Bickham Walters sold the Walters Mill and associated property (eighty acres, more or less) to C. E. Brewer. Actually, this was a deed of trust, apparently to secure a debt.

Note: Cora was living in Washington, DC in 1930.
