Josiah married Anne Hewell, 1 Jan 1835 in Milton, NC. He died of typhoid fever 16 Apr 1845 and Anne died 17 July of the same year. Their children were Sally who died when she 15, William H., John W., and Virginia Watkins Richardson. The children were raised by grandparents and a Hewell aunt who was married to Robert Foard. In 1860, John, William and Virginia were apparently living in their own household next door to Robert Foard and family. John W. was 21, W. H. was 23 and Virginia was age 19 - all born in Kentucky. The manuscript of Pocahontas Hutchinson Stacy is of this line.
