Note: The will of Silas makes plain that John Montgomery & Melvin Fitz. McBee were grandsons - perhaps the young girl was also. However there was a daughter Almedia named in the will that is not otherwise account for. She would have had to be older than 9 however.

Will of Silas McBee
In the name of God Ame, I Silas Mcbee being sick and weak of body but of sound mind and disposing memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life do dispose of such worldly substances which it hath pleased God to bless me with as follows. First I give and bequeath my soul to God who give it and my body to its mother dust from whence it came. Secondly my will and desire is that all my just debts and funeral expences be paid out of the first moneys that may come into the hands of my here in after named executor.
First I give and bequeath to my Daughter Avaline Mcbee one Feather bed and furniture, also one cow which portion I have already Given her. Secondly I give and bequeath to my Daughter Tilatha A. Mcbee one Feather bed and furniture also one cow or ten Dollars in money. Thirdly I give and bequeath to my Daughter Almedia Mcbee one Feather bed and furniture also one cow which portion I have already given her. Fourthly I give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth M. Merrit one Feather bed and furniture also one cow which I have already given her. Fifthly I give and bequeath to my two sons John W. Mcbee and William P. Mcbee my land to be Equally divided between them, the division line to run a cross the valley. My will is that my beloved wife Sarah Mcbee, and my son Harrison Mcbee to have their support during their natural life out of the proceeds of the Farm Also I give and bequeath to my wife Sarah Mcbee my two mares, one sorrel and the other a bay, also all the balance of the stock that I have on the farm consisting of cattle and sheep, also I give and bequath to my son William P. Mcbee the Bay Filly he now claims also one white and pided steer that he now claims. I also will to my two Gransons John M. Mcbee and Melvin F. Mcbee to have a horse each worth one hundred Dollars if they live with John W. Mcbee until these arrive to the age of twenty one years.
I do here by appoint my beloved wife Sarah Mcbee my executrix and T. H. Dail my executor to this my last will and Testament revoking all others or former will by me made at any time written one sheet of paper in witness where off I Silas Mcbee have here unto set my hand and seal This sixteen day of February 1860 and in the presence of us who at his request have set our names as.

Hi, i had a few minutes before a doctors appointment and went into an
antiques mall yesterday. I saw an old c1846 family bible and started
looking in it. Curious, I wrote down a couple of names. written in
old script inside the bible was a lot of family history but I didn't
have time to write all of it down or thumb through the entire book but
I did write down a couple of names to include

Silas McBee born Feb 13, 1790; I think his wife was Sarah born August
7, 1797; the bible was owned by Wiliam D. McBee born March 19,
1840...
