Motion of Leah Spears, widow & relict of George Spears. Commissioners Abraham Hite, George Hikes Sr, George Hikes, Jr, Samuel Bray & James Hite to allot widow her 1/3 dower in lands and slaves. Also to Eliza Brown, late Eliza Spears, wife of Louis Brown her 1/6 and to John K. Spears, son of George 1/6 part. Survey showed 257 acres which touched the line of Walker Prewitt & Joseph Kellar with Fern Creek running through it. The widow was allotted 3 slaves and 79 acres, the balance to be divided into six parts. One part of 30 acres was given to Eliza Brown and one part to John Kellar Spears. John K. was ordered to pay to Eliza & Lewis Brown $46. The guardian of the other infant heirs to pay them $184.00. Other parts not divided. Rec. 1 Feb 1830
