Elijah HARDIN

The 1st meeting of the Breckinridge County Court was held 20 Jan 1800, at the home of William Hardin to appoint the first officers & decide on a site for the county seat. The 2nd meeting was 17 Mar 1800. William Hardin, Jr, gave bond for the office of sheriff. Elijah Hardin was commissioner of the tax. Justices of the quarter session court were William Comstock, Edward Pate, and James Jennings; they met for the first time on 21 Apr 1800.
Hardin's Town had already been laid out so it was chosen the seat of justice for the new county. On 19 Jan 1801, it was named Hardinsburgh. ....there is a map with numerous land sales or transfers from
William Hardin in Breckinridge Co, KY which I believe to have been
copied from Filson Club records in Louisville. One includes 530 acres
from Wm Hardin to Elijah Hardin in 1804. It includes Lodiburg and
Argabright Hollow. The property is immediately east of 632 acres from
Wm Hardin to Henry Hardin in 1801.
