Marlene's parents were Robert Boyd and Clysta Ruth Root Dickinson. Marlene died of lung cancer six weeks following her grim diagnosis.

Ruth Marlene Jones, daughter of Robert Boyd and Clysta Ruth Root Dickinson, was born October 19,1939 in Lebanan, MO and went to be with her Lord Sunday, July 6, 2003 at her home in Lebanon.
On October 19, 1956 she was united in marriage with Billy Joe Jones and to this union was born two sons, both surviving.
Marlene, as she was known to friends, professed her faith in Christ at an early age and fourteen years ago she rededicated her life to the Lord and united with Trinity Full Gospel Church near Eldridge. Marlene loved the church and for several years taught Sunday School.
For many years Marlene owned and operated a Day Care Center in her home. She loved children and was a special care-giver.
She is survived by her husband Billy Joe of the home, two sons; Bobby Joe and his wife Pat, and Jimmy and his wife Kim, all of Lebanon, one daughter Teresa McKnight and her husband Robert of Lebanon, her father and mother Boyd (Curly) and Pat Dickinson, one brother, Russell Dickinson and his wife Valarie, one sister, Kay Dickinson, two stepsisters; Debbie Savittiere and her husband Ben and Mary Bell Allman and her husband Don, all of Lebanon, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces, nephews and a host of friend.
Marlene was preceded in death by her mother and a brother, Ronnie Dickinson.
A special Christian lay, loved by all who knew her. Our loss is Heaven's gain.
