Probably the year of birth of Randolph is wrong on his marker. He had a sister born the same year who was burned to death at age 5 and is buried in Perry Cemetery. Likely by the time Randolph died, no one was sure of the date of his birth.
There is a marriage record, Randolph H. to Susan L. Ryan, 9 Apr 1848, in Logan Co. He would have been only 16 years old. There are other names on his mauseleum stone but no Susan. There is a Lucy LeMay Caldwell, born 27 May 1832 and died 30 Mar 1902.
The 1850 census has Randolph Caldwell, age 22 [b. 1838] with Louan age 18 and David W. age. Also Louisa H. age 45 [his mother] and John W. age 15, born in Tennessee.
[If Randolph was born in 1838, he was a child of Austin, not David Caldwell.]
