Logan Co DB X; p.512 9 Jul 1839 Mary Caldwell dau & heir of Daniel C. Caldwell dec'd & Elizabeth Caldwell his widow by Thomas M. Smith Commissioner. John Grubbs Complainant, the said Caldwells & D. King defendants. Notes due. King, admr of sd D. C. Caldwell, decd. Tract on Red River - Haddox Tract. 126 acres.

In Perry Cemetery in Logan Co, there is said to be a stone of Elizabeth Caldwell, wife of Daniel C. Caldwell. Born 18 Apr 1763 and died 6 Mar 1811. This stone can no longer be read. Elizabeth lived until March of 1844 so certainly that date is in error. A birth year of 1763 would make her some 25 years older than her husband which is not likely. Obviously the stone was read incorrectly or this is someone else.

Elizabeth wrote her will 27 Feb 1844. Left everything in trust for daughter Mary E. Caldwell, with David King, Elizabeth's brother, as guardian and Executor. Wit: J. W. Wilson, Richard W. Courts. Probate was 25 Mar 1844.
Inventory was 23 Apr 1844 with appraisers: James M. Beall, Samuel Poindexter, William First, and William Owens, Sr.
13 Nov 1849. David King, guardian of Mary E. Caldwell petitioned to sell dilapilated land. 480 acres sold to D. C. Caldwell in 1835 by Aaron Campbell. D. C. died in 1839 leaving infant Mary E. Caldwell and widow Elizabeth, also dec'd, who appointed David King her executor and guardian.
Settlement was dated 31 Aug 1854. Exec: David King. G. R. and Mary Bibb received slaves [this is the daughter married to George R. Bibb.]
