Utterback, Sarah, born Mercer Co. KY 10 Aug 1814 and died 21 Apr 1896, age 81 years 8 months 11 days. Her maiden name was Terhune. She was married to Fielden Utterback in Johnson Co. IN 27 Oct 1833 and removed to Iowa in 1856. She was the mother of 10 children, 6 of whom are living - her husband and 4 children having preceded her to the Great Beyond. Funeral services by Elder W. Garret Terhune left New Jersey with his parents, William S. and Maria Van Nuys (Van Nuice) Terhune, about the year 1792, and located in Mercer County, Ky. In the year 1830, he came to Johnson County, Ind., and settled west from Franklin, on the Franklin and Martinsville road six miles southwest of the former town, on an eighty-acre tract of land which he entered about 1826, while living in Kentucky. In 1839, he removed to another eighty-acre tract near the present town of Trafalgar, where he resided until his death. He was a member of the Christian Protestant Church.
Garret married Nancy Davis on August 15, 1813 in Mercer County, KY. Their children were Sarah, Mary A., Harvey, William, James L. Martha A., Margaret, Lucinda, Ida R., Davis, Minerva J., and Obadiah G.
Garret married his second wife, Jane Forsyth on August 3, 1851. Jane was born September 30, 1787, and died February 2, 1856. He married third on September 4, 1857, Nancy Pickerell, who was born on February 3, 1794. No children were born to the last two marriages.

Nancy Davis Terhune was born 9 Apr 1794 in TN, the daughter of Edmund and Sarah Davis. Family recollections describe her as tall, with long golden hair and a beautiful face. Her husband Garret was said to have commented, "when I first met her I felt I stood in the presence of an angel." They were married 15 Aug 1813 in Mercer County, KY.
She was the mother of twelve children: Sarah, Mary A., Harvey, William, James L., Martha A., Margaret, Lucinda, Ida R., Davis, Minerva J., and Obadiah G.
