Susannah Howard

( - May 1812)

Logan Co KY Will Book A, p.255 29 Apr 1812 Robert Allison, son - $100, and Samuel Allison son, a mare and cloth. [To me this wording either indicates Susannah had two daughters married to Allisons, OR more likely, these are grandsons] To Susannah Howard McLean, gdau - wearing apparel & silver spoons [dau of Rev. ephraim], To William B. McLean, bay horse [no relationship stated but possibly Susannah Howard McLean's brother], children of Ephraim McLean, equally, furnishings, livestock etc. with $50 to Charles M. White, grandson. Signed: Susana McLean. Exectr: Samuel Wilson, Ephraim McLean. Wit: John McLean, Elizabeth McLean. Probate: 18 May 1812

The McLean family as found online has created a daughter who married an Allison - named in the will of Charles McLean, a daughter who married a White which is evident, the Rev. Ephraim McLean, also likely a son though this is not expressly stated, and John McLean who was likely added because a John and Elizabeth McLean signed as witnesses. Generally witnesses must be those who do not stand to gain from the bequests, but Rev. Ephraim did have a son named John.
