Edmund's parents were married 11 Oct 1804 and he is believed to be the eldest child.

Edward Finn enteres 50 acres on waters of Flynn Crk near to Abraham Right's line, including an old cabin house & small improvement known as the Patty Allen old place [so called]. 29 Apr 1839.

1850 Census Edmond listed as a blacksmith. Children Peter & Nancy are not listed with household.
In 1855, Sarah had moved to Illinois, and Edmond sued for divorce. Granted Jul 15, 1856.

About 20 Dec 1825, Edmund Finn and Sarah Pippin were joined together in marriage in Jackson Co and lived together until 7 years ago when he purchased a tract of land in Jackson Co and she refused to move with him to the same, but remained where they formerly lived upon land which your orator did not own but had rented from Bird C. Kinshlow about Oct of 1854. She moved to Illinois where she now resides.

Jackson Co TN Chancery Court Minutes: Vol C, p.11: Edmund Finn vs. Sarah Finn. Be it remembered that on the 16th day of July 1856 the above cause came on to be heard before the Honorable Bromfield L. Ridley upon bill. Judgment for convessed and proof where it appeared to the Court that defendant has willfully and maliciously deserted and absented herself from her said husband the complainant for more than two whol years next before the filing of the bill in this cause. Whereupon it is decreed by the Court that the bonds of matrimony existing between Complainant and defendant be dissolved and the Complainant be divorced from his said wife Sarah, and restored to all the privileges of single life and that he pay the costs of this suit and that execution issue therefore as at law.

Edmund did not remarry. He is on the 1870 census in Jackson Co with his stepmother Jennie Finn in his household. His property was sold by her heirs at law on 15 Sep 1879. Only the heirs [five daughters] living in TN shared. Excluded were those out of state.
