Thomas CLAIBORNE

Thomas Claiborne lived in the part of New Kent County which became King William in 1702. His land given to him by his father was part of "Romancoke" and was later named "Sweet Hall". [Sweet Hall was actually a separate plantation built about 1720] He is said to have died as the result of an arrow wound. He is buried near the ruins of the old Romancoke home.
"Here lyeth interred the body of Lt. Col. Thomas Claybourne, son of Col. Wm. Claybourne. He departed this life ye 7th day of October anno domi 1683."
36 years, 1 month, 21 days.

Said to have married Sarah Fenn before 22 Aug 1681.
