Benjamin married Rebecca Lovell
Found in the 1850 Census in Dist 4 of Jackson Co TN. Benjamin Chafin age 35. Rebeca age 32. Nancy age 11, William age 10, John age 6, and Malinda age 4.
Benj. Chaffin in 1860 listed as age 46. Wife given was Polly age 35. Nancy age 21, William age 20, John age 16, Malinda age 14, Ann 11, Martha 3 or 5. It would seem Rebecca Lovell died and Benjamin remarried to a Polly. Joseph Chaffin age 67 lives with Benjamin so Nancy is apparently deceased. Almira age 28, probably Benjamin's younger sister and James Stafford age 14 were also in the household.
