Individual Details
Susan Jane Foster
(25 Oct 1843 - 15 Aug 1922)
In 1850, Susan was living with her grandparents. Josiah's will does name her as a granddaughter. She was apparently crippled from birth. Because she is in his household, some have placed her as a daughter. Seven of the children by Josiah's first wife were still living when he died in 1870 - several sons deceased. I don't know which of his sons was Susan's father.
The family moved to Delta Co TX as Civil War refugees; the in 1894 moved in a wagon train to Canyon in Randall County TX. Susan received a widow's pension for Jim's Confederate service.
