In 1761, Robert's father-in-law, Phillip Joyner made bequests to five children of Robert & Judith, indicating the couple had been married probably at least 10 years. This would necessarily place him as one of the oldest children.

Robert's children moved from Virginia to Tennessee in the earliest years of settlement. They lived east of Dandridge TN on the French Broad River
