Today at noon at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. & Mrs. R. B. Frye at Forbestown, Butte County, this State, will occur the marriage of their daughter Miss Kate V. Frye, to Fred E. Howland, of Fresno. The groom was formerly a resident of this city, which was his home for 15 years, he having been employed in the local office of the Wells-Fargo company as a cashier and later as a messenger on the road, running out of here. He is at present in the employ of the company in the Fresno office. The groom is a brother of Harry C. Howland of this city. Mrs. H. C. Howland will be present at the wedding today, having left for the north Thursday. Mr. & Mrs. Howland will make their home in Fresno.

MRS. KATE HOWLAND IS CALLED BY DEATH
Native of Forbestown Passes away at Home at Fort Bragg
Mrs. Kate Howland, a native of Forbestown and sister to E. B., Oscar & Elmer Fry, of this city, passed away at her home at Fort Bragg, Mendocino County, Tuesday. Mrs. Howland, as a girl, was well known in this county. She attended the Chico State Normal School and after graduating, served as a teacher in the schools of the county. As a student at the Normal she entered with the first class and was a member of the first graduating class to leave the school. She was about 44 years of age at the time of her death.
Mrs. Howland is survived by her husband and two sons, one aged eight years and another aged ten years. Also by her three brothers residing in Oroville and by her mother and father, Mr. & Mrs. R. B. Fry of Forbestown, and a sister, Mrs. E. Dealey, of Forbestown.
Funeral services over the remains will be held Friday at Fort Bragg. The relatives of the deceased departed yesterday for that place.

California Transit Permit for Kate Eliza Howalnd of Fort Bragg, Mendocino Co, CA. She died 11 Apr 1916 of chronic nephritis. She was born 18 Dec 1871 in California and was the wife of F. E. Howland. Her parents were R. B. Fry, b. MO, and Kate Robinson, b. IN. She had lived in Ft. Bragg for 4 years, 6 months, and in California her entire life. Frederick E. Howland of Fort Bragg was the informant. Body to be removed to Forbestown on April 15th.
